January 18, 2007

VELVET REVOLVER guitarist Slash, new KORN drummer Terry Bozzio and legendary metal vocalist Ronnie James Dio were inducted into Hollywood's RockWalk in Los Angeles last night (Wednesday, January 17). The ceremony was held in front of the Guitar Center at 7425 Sunset Boulevard in Hollywood. Check out pictures from Film Magic, Wire Image, Rex Features, Celebrity Photo. The RockWalk is described as "the only sidewalk gallery dedicated to honoring those artists who have made a significant impact and lasting contribution to the growth and evolution rock 'n'roll, blues and R&B." Previous inductees include Jimi Hendrix, Eric Clapton, AEROSMITH, VAN HALEN, Ozzy Osbourne, Johnny Cash, the RAMONES and more.

Slash co-founded GUNS N' ROSES in the mid-'80s and quickly became a superstar with that group before starting VELVET REVOLVER four years ago with other former members of GUNS and STONE TEMPLE PILOTS singer Scott Weiland. VELVET REVOLVER is currently recording its second album.

Terry Bozzio is widely regarded as one of the greatest drummers in rock and first gained attention for his work with MISSING PERSONS and FRANK ZAPPA. He recently joined KORN on a temporary basis to fill in for original drummer David Silveria on their next album and tour.

Ronnie James Dio burst out of upstate New York with his band ELF in the early '70s before fronting RAINBOW, BLACK SABBATH and his own group, DIO, throughout the '80s and '90s. He'll be touring later this year with his former BLACK SABBATH bandmates under the name HEAVEN AND HELL.
